M21 is an Accurized version of  M14. The US Army first covert M14 to M21 during Vietnam war. M 21 use match grade barrel ,Trigger group , and National Match reciever . The original M21 were mount with ART 3x9 scope. The reason US Army bought them back is becuase .308 have better effective range than 5.56 mm.( in firing support role ) There were info collected by the Army from the Troops in Afganistan and Iraq about problem with M16 effective range. There were complains from Troops for the more powerful rounds. The main reason for M21 is for it longer effective range NOT for stopping car bomb like some believe. The Army have SAW 249 , M 240 or better yet .50 cal Heavy machine gun for that.

USP40  :  Thanks  for  the  info  ,  in  America  you  could  own  the  real  steel  M - 14  or  M - 21  ( or  even  the  AR - 15 )  ,  but  in  Thailand  :      ,   I  like  the  looks  of  them   ,   I  would  buy  a  model  M - 14  or  an  airsoft  M - 14    ( with  some  upgrade  kits  such  as  :  real  wood  stock  ,  metal  receiver  ,  steel  barrel  ,  they  will  be  very  realistic  and  heavy  ) .

PS :  Thai  language  is  fine , my  computer  just  can  not  type  Thai  fonts .

boon  :  Yes , you  are  right , there  are  many  states  in  America  which  the  military  weapons  are  illegal  or  banned .


I  used  to  stay  in  New  Hampshire  in  1994  ( from  Spring  to  late  Summer ) , the  local  gunshops  could  trade  or  sell  the  military  weapons  to  the  citizens  , even  to  Thai  students  ,  but  you  have  to  register  and  show  your  ID.  card  or  Driver  License  ,  after  getting  the  permission  ( it  takes  1 week )  you  can  own  one  ,  the  same  rule  for  Hand  Guns  but  you  could  buy  more  than  one  gun  in  the  same  day , for  the  long  barrel  guns  such  as : Bolt  Action  Rifles , Shot  Guns , no  registeration  is  needed , just  stopping  by  the  gunshops  and  making  the  payment , you  get  them  .

In  this  state , you  could  bring  the  gun(s)  with  you ,  of  course  you  have  to  do  this  in  safe  and  polite  manner  or  carefully  ,  if  you  are  driving  a  car  with  your  gun ,  you  should   put  the  gun  on  the  car  seat  or   expose  it  to  let  the  public  know  that  you  may  be  dangerous  ( not  showing  off  as  a  loser  who  wants  some  respect  by  showing  that  " I  have  a  big  gun " )

ปืน Military weapons น่ะซื้อไม่ได้หรอกครับ นอกจากจะอยู่ในรัฐที่อนุญาติ Class III firearms ที่คุณหมายถึงคือ ปืนกึ่งออโต้รูปร่างปืนสงคราม   คนที่จะซื้อปืนใน เมกา ได้จะต้องเป็น Citizen หรือ Permanent residence ( ใบเขียว) เท่านั้นถ้าไม่ใช่ซื้อไม่ได้ ไม่ว่ารัฐไหนทั้งนั้น นี่คือ Faderal Law ตอนซื้อปืนในใบกรอกจดประวัติก็ถามอยู่แล้วว่าเป็น citizen หรือป่าวถ้าไม่ใช่ใบเขียวนัมเบอร์อะไร

USP40  :  Thanks  for  the  info , I  am  not  sure  that  the  US.  M - 1  and  German  KAR - 98  (  used  during  World  War  2  )  or  an  M - 14  ( early  Viet  Nam  War )   are   in  Class  III  ,  or  not .  However  ,  my  sister  ,  brothers  and  their  friends   studied  in  New  Hampshire  in  1993 - 1997  ,  they  really  owned  the  guns  ,  they  bought  them  by  using  their  Driver  Licenses , and  they  are  not  US.  citizens . During  my  vacation  in  1994  in  that  state  ,  they  and  I  went  to  shooting  range  and  enjoyed  shooting .      Wow  !  it  was  10  years  ago , the  time  goes  by  so  quick , we  are  getting  older  and  older . . . . . .

NOT ANYMORE  NOWADAY  you can't even renew driver license without passport  , Green card  . Class III  means  Full Auto Weapons  does not include Smi-Auto weapons.
