This picture shows a Super Sniper SS16x42 scope mounted on a custom Mauser 98 varmint rifle chambered in .243 Winchester.
The fast twist barrel allows the rifle to throw high speed VLD bullets to extreme ranges. I have used this rifle out to 2000 yards. This picture shows a 2'x 4' target at 1700 yds (just over a mile).
This sort of target shooting is just not possible with a lesser scope than the SS16x42 because of the huge elevation corrections required. The big Tasco scope has loads of elevation and excellent optics for spotting those far away targets.
The Mil Dot reticle is worth its weight in gold for long range shooting because it allows the shooter to make fine windage and elevation corrections for misses...which you tend to get a lot of at these sorts of distances.
