I have one. Bought it from the crooks for Bt115,000 five years ago because I did not know better. It's two-tone. It looks and feels very nice especially if you don't think about the price. There are two kinds of magazine. One holds ten bullets, the other holds 13. The guns shoots well and I have not experienced any malfunctions in the past five years. If you want a conversation piece that shoots as well as it looks, this is a good candidate.....conversations you will certainly have.
Now, for the price of this gun (reportedly Bt140,000 now), I would rather buy Les baer or STI. I presume that if you can drop Bt140,000 for the BDA380, then you wouldn't have a problem paying a bit more for some of the less common editions of Les Baer or STI. That way, you can still use it as the conversation piece.
Onto the practical use of the gun:
For general carry purposes, I would rather use a 9mm Glock (26 or 19). My rationale is that the BDA380 isn't that much smaller than the G19. In fact, feeling wise, the BDA's frame is even fatter than that of the G19, making it less comfortable to carry. You also get more rounds in the G19, and the G19 sports a bigger punch.
For concealed carry purposes, I would rather use a 9mm Kahr. Kahr is an expensive brand, but when compared to the price that the crooks sell this BDA380 for, the Kahr (at Bt80,000-90,000) suddenly seems very affordable. I have the PM9. It holds 7+1 rounds of hot 9mm lead. The gun has never, ever failed on me. It is much smaller than the BDA380 and, like the G19, sports a bigger punch. I can put the PM9 in my pant's pocket without being noticed. This, by constrast, cannot be done with the BDA380.
So all in all, I would ask myslef as to what I will be using the gun for before making the decision. Good luck krub
